Who we are

Cepa (seh-pah) is more than a restaurant. It’s more than food. It’s an enlightenment, an awakening of the foods that have been eaten from this very land, for millennia and therein. It starts with the blessings of the habitat. The harsh soil, the piercing thorns of cacti, the sun sweetened fruits and berries, the roots. Cepa represents the roots, turned into fire, turned into coal. Its heritage and tradition. A homage to the storied survivors of this environment. The hunter gatherers, the settlers, and the story of that relationship that is seldom told. Like all relationships, that of the Apache people and the settlers of Tularosa is no less quarreling. But those adversities have forged an unbreakable bond, melding families, and friendships abound.

This is the story of Southern New Mexico. Respectfully plated, gratefully consumed. Those lives, those stories, have led us here. Grab hold of the roots of tradition. This our home. We welcome you to Cepa.
